The Beauty and Cosmetics categories are packed with thousands of brands offering similar products, all fighting for the attention of consumers. In such a crowded category, inducing trial is just as essential for a leading brand as it is to start-ups in order to continue standing apart from the pack. However, getting consumers to experiment with cosmetics is notoriously difficult, particularly if the product is new to the market. Samarya Naturals’ came to us with the challenge of brand revamp in order to create a unique brand identity which resonates with their target segment, could help them stand out of the crowd and help them reach millions of customers.
We started with brainstorming and analysing the client’s vision of a new and enhanced version of their previous logo. A logo must set a connection with potential customers by transferring the company’s characteristics and mood. It may seem difficult to design an absolutely unique symbol because there are so many brands around but sometimes a simple text logo can resonate the brand’s identity very well to the customers. They wanted modernization, a new brand sign but with less elements and yet simple approach. In addition, the client was open to colour palette selection, provided it corresponds to their vision of the brand. After the brainstorming, the resultant logo had the brand name in capitals in black with the tagline below again in black on a white background.
When all the tasks were considered and the direction was chosen, the designer started the creative process. The first stage was silhouette searching. The pencil sketching technique was applied to quickly visualize the first ideas on the paper. Such an approach allows for picturing various concepts without significant efforts and within a short time. Moreover, sketchesmake the communication much more effective helping clients and managers to understand designers’ ideas. In addition, if clients want to make some changes, it’s much easier to make them at this creative stage than in a digital version with elaborate details. Samarya Naturals’ Team liked the minimalistic option of their Logo, so the designer moved to the next stage which requires working with colors and polishing the details on procreate.
Every company exists along a growth continuum, from emerging to adolescence or young adulthood and finally to maturity. A tagline should properly reflect the company’s stage of development. “Nourished By Nature” was the tagline proposed and incorporated with the logo. It explains the company’s value, the approach it follows. Allthe ingredients of the products are made up ofnaturally derived ingredients and have undergone processing while retaining a majority of their natural molecular structure. All products of Samarya Naturals’ are 99.99% Natural but in the interest of transparency 0.01% of the ingredients that is a small amount of skin safe synthetic ingredients are included to maintain the integrity of the product. This idea calls for the attention in the logo itself.
The final logo was completed in a flat minimalisticstyle. The colour palette was chosen according to the clients’ expectations.
The wordmark typographywas chosen that way so it could work in harmony with the brand sign and represent a brand character.
When the logo was accomplished, the designer started another task — an icon. To support brand recognisability, the icon was based on the brand symbol. The icon frame is wider than in the logo which makes it look clickable. The overlapping alphabets‘S’ and ‘A’ were used as the icon so the icon would be noticeable on the different digital screens.
We all know the importance of having a good website. It’s an opportunity for a brand to show off their masterpieces to the world, while having full control over all aspects, from the layout, to animations, navigation and more. This way, a brand can have an impact on the way their work is perceived and experienced by potential clients.
The website was created in such a way that it reflected a cohesive picture of the brand’s personality. A consistent layout was used throughout the pages, with titles, subtitles and paragraph text all retaining the same style. Two alternating shades of grey and white made up the website’s background, creating a clear, but subtle, separation between folds, and ultimately contributing to a successful user experience. The informative and promotional banners were used to grab the customer’s attention. More emphasis was given to the top selling products and top pick products by Samarya Naturals’ that made the customers to stay longer on the webpage to explore the deals.The website was developed keeping in mind user friendly interface. And was made fully responsive with respect to various mobile devices, tablets, I pads, desktops and laptops.
A well-crafted social media strategy was used to present an online look and feel that would speak for their target audience. It helped them to build their brand’s relevance over social media and grow reach. A visual identity manifestation was done with the help of collaterals and creative for both Instagram and Facebook platform. It was much needed for smooth brand communication with the target audience.
